Hey Kill, can we stop using Leper file names please? Somehow using the Leper file names worked but using the twilight_knight file names didn’t so there’s something in the atlas & skel files beyond renaming them that prevents things from working smoothly. Don’t ask me why but using the Leper files without renaming them worked.

Since the new idle, walk & combat files are incompatible with the default version of the Leper could we stop using his name? It would avoid confusion further down the line.

For the file names, we cannot change the names…well we can only change the .skel file name and .png name however we cannot change the .atlas file name. This is because the .skel file specifically looks for the name of the .atlas file (I think) and I cannot change the .skel file to read a new .atlas file name since I cannot read the .skel file. I can however change a .atlas file to reference a new .png file name and since the .atlas and .png files don’t reference the .skel, renaming it shouldn’t cause any problems. Coming to think of it, maybe we could rename it. You will however have to check if the game looks for a .skel file and .atlas file separately as opposed to calling on just a .skel file. We could test that out to see. I will change a couple of things in the file in the dropbox and you can test them out later.

After discussing it with the friend who helped with some scripting… He looked at the atlas & skel files and reckons that as long as we only change the class name (and nothing else in the file name) then it should work. We’ve renamed leper.sprite.attack_chop as twilight_knight.sprite.attack_hack (referencing the artwork). We can change it back to twilight_knight.sprite.attack_chop because we can change the skill’s display name in the art & info file.

There’s probably a few other small tweaks as well. It’s worth noting that killthemall tweaked the atlas or skel files for the idle, combat & walking animations to alter the size the sword would display at. These changes worked when the files all still used Leper default file names. It was only when we went and renamed all the files to twilight_knight that something broke.

The main reason I believe it’s something in one of the atlas or skel files is that I was able to reproduce the error using a leper with renamed versions of the twilight knight atlas & skel files (and yes, I had opened the atlas files and changed them to be for the leper’s png’s).

I’m not entirely sure where we go from here but at least finally identifying a problem (or coming a step closer to identifying it) has got to be a good thing.
