No idea why KingEden, 6.1 works fine on my part. It might help reinstalling the game, as GOG’s patcher wouldn’t let me just patch the 5.0.2 modded game to the latest version before applying 6.1.
I have only played one run with 6.1 so I don’t have any significant insight to give yet (and I haven’t had any hero past level 4 since starting playing Pitch Dark.. actually, not even in vanilla, so I can’t give you endgame input yet either), but here’s a little feedback:
-From reading the changelog:
–I like what you did on the Highwayman. Duelist’s Advance buff to Point Blank Shot benefits the combo and makes you put more thought into deciding wether to enter battle with the highwayman at the second or first position, instead of always starting with a non-buffed Point Blank. And it looks like you made Tracking/Deceitful Shot actually viable!
–Arbalest’s “Flare” affecting the entire team seems a necessary change to make it worth carrying, but are you sure that won’t make Swine Royals trivial? I haven’t used an Arbalest yet since the update so I don’t know your countermeasures to that, but what if Flare also put a 1-turn Marked on the user?
-From actually playing:
–The Abomination’s now much more interesting to play, with the positional and inter-skill buff changes. However, as you can’t Transform to beast in in the fourth position, a human-form Abomination at the rear can only use Absolution. To put Slam’s new ability to charge from there (as it’s very unlikely a beastform Abomination will be moved there by other means), it might be a good idea to extend Transform’s usable position to 4-3-2-1. If you want, you could instead make it 4-3-2 (reasonable in that a frontline beast is too immersed in battle to calm down; shame you can’t set different use positions to human-to-beast and beast-to-human) and add a Self: Backwards 1 to Absolution, so that a frontline humanform can get back and then transform.
